How do we handle them?
- WITH POSITIVE ATTITUDE…
We can’t control the obstacles we face, but we can control how we react to them. With positive attitude we are able to view them through the eyes of possibility, instead of the eyes of defeat.
- WITH PATIENCE…
Panic leads to scattered, unproductive behavior. Patience leads to clear deliberate thinking, which enables us to make well thought out decisions.
- WITH PERSPECTIVE…
There are many things we can’t change: the weather, another person, a situation controlled by outside forces. Putting them in perspective allows us to see them realistically and let go of our impulses to control the uncontrollable.
- WITH FLEXIBLITY…
Sometimes we have to change our own direction a little to accommodate an obstacle in our way, just as a kayak steers around a rock in it’s way. Being flexible allows us to be open to finding a new direction.
- WITH VISION…
Sometimes we lose our vision when we are confronted with challenges. Clear vision allows us to look into the future BRIEFLY and remember where we are headed. Too much looking ahead, can make us lose focus on where we are now. The past has great value, because we have learned from it, however, focusing on it may cause us to lose our direction NOW. When we focus on the now, we are able to attempt to negotiate obstacles; sometimes we can even avoid them.
