Staying Inspired and Motivated

Everyone in every business suffers from lack of motivation from time to time.  Sometimes we just get tired and run out of gas and need something to inspire us as we climb the mountains of our everyday lives.  Our challenges may seem insurmountable.  We may just get bored, tired, unmotivated and burned out.

PHYSICALLY... It is important to stay physically fit to stay motivated and sharp mentally. Exercise keeps your mind sharp, your body feeling good, and your creative thinking peaked. As much as 77% more mood enhancing endorphins are released as you exercise. Combine that with stretching, proper diet, good sleeping habits and deep breathing and you are ready to make the climb. Treating your body well fills up your energy reserve tank, so you will be able to expend more energy, function efficiently, and stay motivated.

MENTALLY... I believe if you change your attitude you can change how you view yourself and your situation. I suggest adopting what I call the 'adventure attitude'. The 'adventure attitude' is about looking at life fresh and new... moment by moment. Small children live the adventure attitude. To them life is a big adventure: their young minds are always learning, at 'break neck' pace. They focus their energy on something and they 'go for it'. If it alludes them, they change direction and try something else. Failure is not an option. Children are curious, excited, optimistic, questioning, and see possibilities all around them. If we can look at life that way, everyday tasks are forever full of life and creativity. How do we do it... take one step at a time, be awake and alert for possibilities, learn all we can, and try new things.

EMOTIONALLY... Support yourself so are sure to make progress step by step. How? Carry a light load. It's hard to climb a mountain with a pack that is too heavy and it's hard to travel through life that way too. Get rid of all the extra 'stuff' you carry with you: issues in the past that are still lurking in the present, extra commitments you said yes to that are cluttering your head, material things that get in your way and extra pounds you carry that destroy your self esteem. Especially eliminate the 'NO' people in your life and surround yourself with 'encouragers'. The unconditional supporters we have in our lives will always be there if we fall, and love us anyway. Supporting yourself in these ways will help you to stay motivated and inspired to do your best.
